Emma Junaro is one of Bolivian's most distinguished and accomplished singers and a folk heroine of her generation. Inspired primarily by Andean folkloric traditions, she expresses the essence of her culture and the spirit of her people with poignant, intensely political lyrics which give voice to the struggle for freedom.
